5. Incident light measurement is measuring the amount of light falling on the
set area. Incident light readings are normally taken from the position of the
subject or set area being lighted (fig 2-2).

6. Reflected light readings measure the amount of light reflecting or bouncing
off of the subject or set area and are often used to measure the contrast ratio
of a scene.
These readings, if taken from the camera position as shown in
Figure 2-3, measure the average light reflecting back to the camera.
