44. Corps and Division.
a. Frequency control is
the responsibility of the Corps
communications-electronics officer and the division communications-
electronics officer. The corps communications-electronics officer is
responsible for providing frequency support to all units of the
corps. This includes:
(1) Representing
the
corps
at
frequency
conferences of
high
headquarters.
(2) Coordinating with adjacent and subordinate units.
(3) Coordinating with the corps area frequency coordinator as
required.
(4) Preparing communications-electronics operation instructions
items for the purpose of:
(a) Allocating frequencies to divisions.
(b) Allocating call signs.
(c) Assigning frequencies and call signs to corps headquarters
and corps subordinate units.
(5) Resolving interference problems.
(6) Maintaining records of all frequency assignments within the
corps area.
(7) Receiving, processing, and forwarding radio frequency
requirements for all communications-electronics operations in the
corps area.
b. Multichannel radio requirements will usually exceed the
available channels, particularly in areas with extensive television
and aeronautical facilities is used.
The ABM plan which will be
discussed later in this lesson can be used to obtain maximum use of
available frequencies.
Multichannel radio frequencies must be
controlled at all levels.
Assignment of frequencies may be
decentralized, but assignments must be forwarded to the corps
frequency branch.
c. Multichannel radio frequencies are obtained from the corps
communications-electronics operation instructions frequency list.
d. The following procedures
are
used
for
multichannel
radio
frequency control and assignment:
