IDENTIFY METHODS OF TROUBLESHOOTING

Troubleshooting is the most time consuming part of organizational maintenance because it involves
finding the part causing the problem, replacing the bad part, and then adjusting the drier so that it functions
properly.

Figure 3-8 is furnished as an aid in localizing troubles in the driers. Only those corrective measures
which can be applied during organizational maintenance are given. If the measure suggested does not restore
normal equipment performance, note on the repair tag what corrective measures have been taken and refer
the equipment to higher category maintenance for repair.

Figure 3-8 has been set up to isolate troubles by components of the drier. Before using the figure,
examine the operator's repair tag to see whether the trouble has been sectionalized. Refer to the operator's
preventive maintenance checks and services.
