c. The air defense coordination net (AM voice) is used by the battalion's air battle management
operations center (ABMOC) to coordinate tactical air and ground air defenses based on air defense
resources in the division's area of operations. Figure 2-5, page 2-4, illustrates this net.
d. The early warning broadcast net (FM voice and AM voice) is used to transmit early warning
data of incoming low-flying hostile aircraft to division elements and to the battalion's firing batteries.
Figure 2-6, page 2-5, depicts this net. Note that the Stinger section and the battalion ABMOC use AM

coordination section and the A2C2 element, both of which can be out of FM range. The Stinger section
e. The battery command/operations net (FM voice) is used to command and control the firing
battery. Figure 2-7, page 2-6, illustrates this net. The battery CP is the hub of this net, coordinating all
engagements of enemy aircraft and monitoring weapon systems status. The two maintenance teams, as
well as the recovery vehicles, are responsive to unit needs.
f. The platoon command/operations net (FM voice) is used by each platoon of a firing battery
to command and control the platoon.
