cable will follow the sequence shown in the COLOR COMBINATIONS chart. The
important fact here is that the technician performing the wiring must
establish his basic wiring plan and follow it, using the color code as his
guide. Two examples will illustrate the use of the color code charts.
Example 1:
Pair 61 uses one wire having solid blue insulation for
ring; and one wire having red insulation with a white
streak (tracer) spiralling through it.
Example 2:
Pair 26 uses one wire having solid red insulation for
tip, and one wire having blue insulation with a white
streak (tracer) spiralling through it.
NOTE:
Some cables use only the twenty basic colors without
tracers.
In these cables, the wires will be wrapped in
subgroups. Since similar colored wires will appear in the
cable, the technician must observe great care to maintain
the separation of groups.
