a. Next, position the mount and print face up on a hard, even surface
and cover them with a piece of clean protecting paper a little larger than
the print. Apply heat with a firm pressure. If you are using a hand iron,
it is best to start at the center of the print and work slowly toward the
edges. Do not stop the movement of the iron or the print may be scorched or
marked. Follow this procedure, always working from the center toward the
edges, until the entire print is stuck down. As the shellac on the tissue
is heated, it softens and penetrates into both the mounting board and the
back of the print. After it has cooled, the bond between print and mount is
permanent.
