WHY SOLUTIONS SHOULD NOT BE MIXED WITH THE SHAFT OF THE ELECTRIC
MIXER IN THE CENTER OF THE CONTAINER.
An electric mixer and stainless steel bucket are available in most photo labs and are used to mix
chemicals. The shaft of the motor should be adjusted about 25 degrees off vertical, and to the right of
the center of the container when mixing a chemical solution. If the shaft of the mixer is placed in the
center of the bucket, it will cause a whirlpool effect which introduces air into the solution, and will ruin
it by oxidation.
