The buffer solution should be at the same temperature, if possible, as the sample to be
analyzed. Measure the temperature of the buffer with a thermometer (figure 5) and set
the temperature compensation dial (figure 6) at that temperature in degrees Centigrade.

Grasp the electrode holder in the back, squeeze and raise the electrodes to the top of the
rod (figure 7).
CAUTION: THE ELECTRODES ARE VERY FRAGILE, HANDLE CAREFULLY.
