INTRODUCTION
The Army rarely fights alone. It often takes part in joint (two or more services) operation. It also may
fight in combined efforts with coalition or allied forces. Command, control, and communications (C3)
and the effective integration of all forces are pivotal to successful military operations. Thus, you need a
basic understanding of joint and combined organizations and their capabilities. You also need to know
organizations.
