When the double-plug patch cord is patched into a jack pair, the
circuits on the jack tips appear in the headset, and the jack normal-through
contracts break. Thus no signals will be made when the plug is patched into
either the transmit LINE or receive EQUIP because the signal will be lost
when the contacts break.
