Learning Event 5: DISTORTION ANALYZER SYSTEM DAS10
Distortion Analyzer System DAS10 is an integrated system of digital
test equipments providing facilities for comprehensive analysis of DC
synchronous and start-stop telegraph signals or data. Its function is to
determine the type and magnitude of distortions present in the signal.
The system includes three components which are used in different ways,
depending on the circuit configuration and the signal analysis to be
performed. The nomenclature of the three components is as follows:
Data Transmitter, Model 7413
Data Analyzer, Model 7422
A-Scan, Model 7431 (oscilloscope)
a. Overall System Test. The overall system test is illustrated in A
of figure 2-1. The data transmitter generates any type of DC test signal
required by the system.
As the signal travels through the communication
system it undergoes some degree of change, depending on many factors.
When the DC signal arrives it is analyzed by the data analyzer, which
reads out the amount of distortion on a meter. The oscilloscope is used
to observe the DC waveform of the incoming signal.
