(1) Pulse-link repeater.
The standard method uses a pulse-link
repeater as shown in A of figure 1-8. This repeater converts the E lead
signals (open-ground) into M lead signals (ground-battery).
(2) Modified version. The modified version shown in B of figure 1-8,
makes use of two Collins SF units so arranged that the E and M leads may
be connected directly, eliminating the need for a pulse-link repeater.
