Staggered subdivisions
When constructing an organizational chart, you may find a situation where
the same position (person) supports more than one section. To show this
situation clearly, you would place a rectangle under each section that
the position supports, label the rectangle, and place an asterisk at the
end of the label.
Then in the legend, explain the meaning of the
asterisk.
Figure 1-45 shows how an administrative assistant supports three
different sections. Each section has a rectangle for this position and
the legend has notes explaining the split function.

chart.
To
prepare
an
organizational chart, you start with the sketch or details on the VI work
order and draw a rough draft of the chart. Keep refining the rough draft
until you have a balanced, easy-to-follow illustration of the
