If circuit disturbance is heard and there is no open or shorts on
the system, the RT is bad.
If no circuit disturbance is heard and there is no open or short
on the system, the AM-1780 is bad.
d. Test procedure 73.
To check the system when an open or short
exists, disassemble the MT-1029.
Remove P1 from J22.
Measure continuity on the MT-1029.
For an open, measure J24 pin K to J22 pin K.
Measurement should be zero ohms.
If infinity, the MT-1029 is bad (open).
For a short, measure J24 pin K to pin A.
The measurement should be infinity.
If zero is measured, the MT-1029 is bad (shorted).
If the MT-1029 is not open or shorted, remove the CX-4723 from
the J-3513/U J7 and check for an open or short.
For an open, measure from end-to-end of the cable pin K.
If infinity is measured, the cable is bad (open).
For a short, measure continuity on one end of the cable, pin K to
pin A.
The measurement should be infinity.
If zero ohms is measured, the CX-4723 cable is bad (shorted).
If the cable is not opened or shorted, the J-3513/U is bad.
