If disturbance is heard, set the R-442 to OFF.
Remove the R-442 from the MT-1898.
Measure continuity from J14 pin K to the CX-7058/VRC pin K for an
open.
The measurement should be zero ohms.
Measure J14 pin K to pin A for a short.
The measurement should be infinity.
If there is no open or short at the MT-1898 J14, the R-442 is
bad.
If there is an open at J14, disassemble the MT-1898 mount.
Remove the CX-7058/VRC from the J-3514 J1 and measure the CX-
7058/VRC, end-to-end, pin K.
If the measurement is infinity, the CX-7058/VRC is bad.
If zero ohms is measured, remove the J-3514/U P1 from the MT-
1898.
Measure on the MT-1898 J14 pin K to J12 pin K.
If the measurement is infinity, the MT-1898 is bad.
If the measurement is zero, the J-3514/U is bad.
If a short is measured at J14, disassemble the MT-1898 mount.
Remove the CX-7058/VRC from the J-3514/U.
Measure continuity on the CX-7058/VRC pin K to pin A.
If zero ohms is measured, the CX-7058/VRC is bad.
If infinity is measured, remove the J-3514/U P1 from the MT-1898.
Measure continuity on the MT-1898 J14 pin K to pin A.
If zero ohms is measured, the MT-1898 is bad.
If infinity is measured, the J-3514/U is bad.
