d. Electromagnetic compatibility.
The condition which prevails
when telecommunications equipment is collectively performing its
individually
designed
functions
in
a
common
electromagnetic
environment without causing or suffering unacceptable degradation due
to unintentional interference to or from other equipment in the same
environment.
For a given class of emission, the
necessary bandwidth is the minimum value of the occupied bandwidth
sufficient to insure the transmission of information at the rate and
with the quality required for the system employed under specified
conditions.
Emission useful for the good functioning of the
receiving equipment, as the emission corresponding to the carrier of
reduced carrier systems, for example, shall be included in the
