l. The MSE architecture can be described as having three layers (Figure 1-21). The
upper layer is the network backbone structure consisting of interconnected node centers. The
middle layer consists of LENs and SENs that provide units and CPs with network access. The
bottom layer consists of the system's static and mobile subscribers. Together, they form a highly
mobile, automatic, secure communications network.
