(1) The LEN, as indicated in the previous diagram, provides wire line service for
large CPs. Figure 1-17 illustrates a typical LEN configuration depicting the placement of the
equipment and their interconnection with each other.
(2) Subscribers serviced by the LEN would access the MSE network via the remote
multiplex combiners (RMC) or J-1077 distribution boxes installed by the LEN (see Figure 1-17).
The maximum number of subscribers who can be connected by RMCs is 80. The maximum
number of subscribers who can be connected via -1077 distribution boxes is 96. Users are
responsible for installing, operating, and connecting their subscriber terminal equipment to the
distribution boxes or RMC. Figures 1-18 and 1-19, pages 1-23 and 1-24, are examples of how
the subscribers' terminal equipment (a DSVT or DNVT in this case) would be connected to the J-
1077 or RMC, respectively.
