(2) AN/TYC-39 Message Switch provides secure, automatic message switching of
narrative record and data traffic in conjunction with multichannel LOS, SATCOM, and
troposcatter communications systems. The message switch has two versions (a 50-line switch
and a 25-line switch). The 50-line message switch is contained in two shelters: a message
processing shelter (Figure 1-27) and a communications interface shelter (Figure 1-28). The 25-
line message switch is contained in a single shelter (Figure 1-29, page 1-38).
