(2) LOS Radio Repeater AN/TRC-174 is used to extend the transmission range of
systems terminated by the AN/TRC-173. Its radio equipment is housed in a single S-590 shelter.
Figure 1-31 illustrates the interior of the radio repeater.
(3) LOS Radio Terminal Set AN/TRC-175 is a transportable, secure radio/cable
tactical communications assemblage. It operates as a shortwave wideband radio (SRWBR) and
is capable of terminating up to two 576-digital channel systems. The AN/TRC-175 is normally
employed at the bottom-of-the-hill node to provide a SRWBR link of up to eight kilometers with
the AN/TRC-138A located at the top-of-the-hill radio park. Its radio equipment is housed in a
single S-591 shelter. Figure 1-32 illustrates the interior of the radio terminal set.
