(4) LOS Radio Repeater Set AN/TRC-138A is a tactical communications assemblage
with multiple system deployment. It is employed primarily to provide the link at the radio park
(top-of-the-hill) for the radio terminal set AN/TRC-175 at the bottom-of-the-hill. It can also be
employed as a radio repeater to extend LOS microwave links between two external AN/TRC-
138s. Its radio equipment is housed in a single S-667 shelter. Figures 1-33 and 1-34 illustrate
the interior of the radio repeater set.
(5) Radio Terminal Set AN/TRC-170 is an air and ground transportable troposcatter
microwave communications assemblage. It is employed at major nodes to provide secure digital
long-haul radio links for the EAC communications network. Its radio terminal is housed in
either a single S-280 or S-250 shelter. Figure 1-35 illustrates the interior of the radio terminal
set.
