c. TRITAC network control facilities.
(1) Communications Systems Control Element (CSCE) AN/TYQ-30/31/32 provides
automated management system control of TRITAC networks. The CSCE gives the EAC
network manager automated management facilities for planning, allocating, using, and operating
the deployed tactical communications network. The network control facility comes in four
versions.
(a) The AN/TYQ-30(V1) is the EAC signal brigade management facility. It is
contained in two S-280 shelters (an operations shelter and an automatic data processing (ADP)
shelter). The shelters are illustrated in Figures 1-40 and 1-41, pages 1-49 and 1-50.
(b) The AN/TYQ-30(V2) is used by signal battalion personnel to manage the AC
network. It is contained in a single S-280 shelter, which is illustrated in Figure 1-42, page 1-51.
(c) The AN/TYQ-31 is used by nodal management and technical control
personnel. It is contained in a single S-280 shelter, which is illustrated in Figure 1-42, page 1-
51.
(d) The AN/TYQ-32 is used by using unit (sub-element) to transmit or receive
status reports on special portions of the network. The AN/TYQ-32 is an unsheltered portable
work station, which is depicted in Figure 1-43, page 1-52.
(2) Major components and technical characteristics of the CSCE are listed in
Appendix D.
