LESSON OBJECTIVES:
It is assumed that you will not have a radio set, multiplexer, or antenna system available
while you take this lesson. Therefore, by accomplishing the following lesson objectives you
should be able to perform the interunit connections and tune the AN/GRC-103. You will require
some supervision from a qualified individual when you do have the necessary equipment
available. The lesson objectives you must accomplish to successfully complete this lesson are as
follows:
a. Label the items indicated on a diagram of the transmitter fixed head of Radio Set
AN/GRC-103. You will be allowed one labeling error.
b. Label the items indicated on a diagram of the transmitter RF head of Radio Set
AN/GRC-103. You will be allowed one labeling error.
c. Label the items indicated on a diagram of the receiver fixed head of Radio Set
AN/GRC-103. You will be allowed one labeling error.
d. Label the items indicated on a diagram of the receiver RF head of Radio Set
AN/GRC-103. You will be allowed one labeling error.
e. Connect the components of an AN/GRC-103 and multiplexer for operation as a 12-
channel PCM radio terminal. A block diagram will be provided with the terminals of each
component identified. No errors will be allowed in the completed drawing.
f. Properly sequence a list of steps used to tune the AN/GRC-103 transmitter. Diagrams
similar to Figure 4-1 thru 4-3 in TM 11-5820-540-12 may be used while the tuning steps are
sequenced. Two sequencing errors will be allowed.
g. Properly sequence a list of steps used to tune the AN/GRC-103 receiver. Diagrams
similar to Figures 4-1 thru 4-3 in TM 11-5820-540-12 may be used while the tuning steps are
sequenced. One sequencing error will be allowed.
