c. 12-Channel PCM Radio Repeater. A repeater is used between radio terminals to
receive, regenerate and retransmit the original signal to a distant relay site or terminal equipment.
In a 12-channel radio repeater two radio sets are used without any additional multiplex
equipment. All order wire call signals are relayed thru the repeater and activate the local order
wire call buzzer. The local order wire is connected in a party line relationship with all order wire
units throughout the relay system. Only one order wire unit is required for the two radio sets at a
repeater site. Figure 2 shows the cable connections between each AN/GRC-103. Notice that
order wire 2 is not connected into the circuit.
