c. Uninstalled spare equipment cannot be at unattended sites. Only one on-line spare may be installed
for available circuits.
d. Keying material other than that electrically or physically held in the COMSEC equipment cannot be
stored at an unattended site.
e. Unattended sites must be inspected periodically, but no less-than once a month. The purpose is to
verify that no one has tampered with the COMSEC equipment.

Summary.
a. The three types of cryptofacilities are fixed, mobile, and transportable.
b. A facility must meet the physical security requirements established by Army regulations. These
include:
(1) The structural integrity of the facility.
(2) Substantial safes and cabinets used to store COMSEC material.
c. The soldier is the most important link in protecting COMSEC material.
