c. Miscellaneous Equipment.
In addition to the radio sets and
multiplexer described above, you need to use various other components
to complete your assemblages. The following paragraphs discuss some
of the common equipment you use to make up the desired configuration
for your mission.
(1) Telephone signal converter CV-1548/G.
The CV-1548/G
converts 2-wire telephone circuits to 4-wire circuits used to
transmit over multiplex systems.
This unit operates in conjunction
with the TD-352, TD-353, and TD-660 multiplexers. It provides three
signal options; converts 20-Hz ringing signal to 1600 Hz, converts a
direct current (DC) closure to 1600 Hz, or no ringing signal
conversion. Figure 1-15 illustrates the CV-1548/G.
