Mobile subscriber access
allows subscribers to place or receive calls while moving through the
battle areas.
The mobile equipment does this by accessing the
network through the RAU.
(1) The mobile subscriber radiotelephone terminal-AN/VRC-97
supports mobile subscriber access.
It consists basically of a VHF
radio and a digital secure voice terminal.
It can mount on any of
nine U.S.
Army vehicles, or on a stand-alone tripod.
