c. The four signal support principles are:

(1) Continuity (survivability, reliability, redundancy, and connectivity).

(2) Security (information security, physical security, dispersion, and deception).

(3) Versatility (flexibility, interoperability, and autonomy).

(4) Simplicity (technological sophistication and standardization).

d. The CHS program uses three computers. They are the handheld terminal unit, the portable

computer unit, and the transportation computer unit.

e. Each battlefield functional area (BFA) has a battlefield automated system (BAS), as depicted

in Table 1-1.

f. The tactical communications network is comprised of three systems. Those systems are the

Combat Net Radio (CNR), the Army Data Distribution System (ADDS), and the Area Common User

System (ACUS).
