house wire up the groove behind the C-Block. Now remove the inch of outer insulation from the house
wire. The four wires inside the house wire now need to be separated. The green and yellow go together
and the red and black go together.
b. Hold the green and yellow wire in the left hand and the red and black in the right hand.
Wrap both sets of wires behind the C block to the bottom. Green and yellow go counter clockwise; red
and black go clockwise. Cross over on the bottom and continue to the top. Cross again, then continue
to the openings on the left and right side of the C block. Green and yellow on the left; red and black on
the right. Take the yellow and black down and cross over again and back to the openings. Black on left;
yellow on right. Place wires behind respective screws. Using needlenose pliers pinch the yellow wire at
the corner of the opening. Remove the insulation from the wire. Wrap the bare wire behind the
washers. Snug it up. Do the other three wires the same way on their respective screws.
Figure 54. Screw terminal connections for connecting block.
c. Now continue with the green wire and fasten it the same as you did the yellow. Next take the
red and black wires and wrap them clockwise and secure them the same way. Be sure you wrap all
wires at least one complete turn around the block before securing the wires to each terminal. At this
time you may tighten the black and yellow terminals.

Installation of telephone TA-236/FT.
This is probably the easiest part of the job. The wires on the telephone have the same color
coding. Depending on the type of installation you will have you might use all four wires.
