Percentage bar chart
When constructing a bar, the space between the columns is 2/3 the width
of a column, the same spacing as a vertical column chart. You use the
same criteria the lesson discussed earlier to select the scale and title.
To construct a bar, you use the same procedure used to construct a
vertical column chart; however, you must remember to use the X-axis for
the scale and the Y-axis for the data, maintaining a 2 to 3 ratio for the
chart.
You can also combine this type of chart with a table to help the reader
understand the data presented. Figure 1-23 shows a descriptive bar chart
comparing the percentage of aircraft not operationally ready (same data
as in figure 1-21).
