Unroll an equal amount of wire from each reel assembly as
shown in Figure 16.
Grasp the reel assembly firmly in one hand, and loosen the
thumb nut at the center of the reel and the thumb nut on
the wire clamp on the reel assembly.
Move away from the antenna insulator center slowly, keeping
the wire taut at all ties.
Hold a thumb on the wire to
prevent backlash.
After unwinding the required amount of wire, tighten the
thumb nut on the wire clamp and then the thumb nut at the
center of the reel.
Unfasten the tape measure (if used) from the insulator.
Unfasten the insulator from the support,
and
lay
the
antenna wires out in a straight line.
Check the overall length of the two wires plus the
insulator and reel assemblies. This overall length should
be twice the length indicated in Table 1.
Adjust the
antenna for the exact overall length.
Be certain to keep
the insulator centered.
