(3) Communications. At EAC, tactical signal organizations assigned to the TSC(A)
have the primary responsibility for installing, operating, and maintaining the TCS(A). The
TSC(A) plans and manages the entire TCS for the theater commander when the Army is the
predominant force in the theater.
(4) Automation. At the EAC level, automation responsibilities of the theater signal
officer overlap those of the Information Systems Command (ISC). The ISC provides support to
the theater on a regional basis. While some organizations within the theater are actual ISC
assets, they are considered part of the TSC(A). At the EAC level, planning and staff supervision
of automation activities are done by the deputy chief of staff for information management
(DCSIM). The DCSIM is a staff element of the TSC(A) HQ.
