(b) Representing the corps signal officer in corps HQ actions.
(c) Assisting in preparing the signal annex of the corps operations order.
(d) Providing signal assistance to staff elements of the corps HQ.
(2) Automation. Planning, organizing, and coordinating all tactical automation
support at corps is the responsibility of the automation management officers, who are assigned to
the corps signal office. Primary duties of the automation management officers include:
(a) Planning, organizing, and coordinating tactical automation support to the
corps commander's C2 systems.
(b) Integrating cryptographic, automation, and data transmission means to support

automated C systems.
(c) Providing technical direction for installing, operating, and maintaining data
base and teleprocessing systems. This includes hardware and software interoperability for
automated telecommunications and teleprocessing systems.
(3) Visual information. The corps signal officer is responsible for providing visual
information support at corps. The assistant corps signal officer and the corps signal office staff
have the primary responsibility for coordinating and integrating visual information support
within the corps. Signal officers at every echelon within the corps (division, brigade, separate
battalion) are responsible for overseeing and providing visual information support within their
respective units. They also coordinate with the assistant corps signal officer and the corps signal
office staff to ensure that visual information support is integrated throughout the corps.
(4) Records management. The corps ISSO has the primary responsibility for records
management. The ISSO receives its direction and guidance from the assistant corps signal
officer.
(5) Printing and publication. The ISSO is responsible for this function at corps.
There is usually very limited or no printing capability at corps and below. The signal
reproduction detachment at theater level provides volume printing support to the corps when
required. If the need arises, the ISSO forwards printing requests through signal channels to the
signal reproduction detachment for printing support.
