(5) NMF AN/TSQ-154 provides the equipment and space required by the node
platoon leader to manage the resources of the node center/LEN. The NMF interfaces with the
node switch/LENS operations shelter to receive operational order and technical directives from
the SCC, and to send network status reports to the SCC. Technical characteristics of the NMF
are discussed in Appendix D.

MSE Network Architecture.
a. The MSE network can be described as a nodal-switched system. Nodes are deployed
from the corps and divisional signal battalion to form a backbone network that provides
geographic and area coverage.
