Figure 4. 12 CHANNEL RADIO TO CABLE CONVERSION
(5) Figure 4 is a block diagram of a 12-channel radio-to-cable-conversion. A Pulse
Restorer TD-206/G must be inserted between the TD-204/U's for each mile of cable.
b. Antenna and Power. Operating with its own antenna system, the AN/GRC-103
provides good performance over line-of-sight paths in excess of 50 miles (80.45 kilometers).
There is also sufficient reserve power to give satisfactory operation over obstructed paths. The
same antenna is used for both transmission and reception and can be erected by two men in
approximately 10 minutes.
Power requirement for the AN/GRC-103 is 115 volts ac. Output power of BAND I is 25
watts minimum, BAND II is 25 watts minimum, and BAND III is 20 watts minimum.
c. Assemblages. Radio Set AN/GRC-103 is mounted in a variety of vehicular
transportable assemblages used in forward area PCM communications systems.
