SECTION 1. DESCRIPTION OF AN/GRC-103(V)
a. Purpose and Use. The AN/GRC-103 is a transportable FM radio set. This radio set
provides facilities for multichannel radio transmission and reception of Pulse Code Modulation
(PCM) signals. The radio sets will accomodate up to 24 telephone channels when used with
appropriate PCM multiplex equipment.

(1) Radio signal transmission or reception may be over any one of 1561 radio
frequency (RF) channels, each of which are 0.5 MHz apart. The frequency range of the
AN/GRC-103 is from 220 to 1,000 MHz and is divided into three bands. BAND I covers
frequencies from 220 to 404.5 MHz, BAND II covers frequencies from 394.5 to 705 MHz, and
the BAND III frequencies are from 695 to 1,000 MHz. The components identified as BAND I in
Figure 1 must be replaced with BAND II or III components when a change in frequency range is
necessary.
