(2) Radio Set AN/GRC-103 may be used in a variety of configurations within a
communications system. One configuration is as a radio terminal for 6, 12, or 24 channel PCM
transmission. When 24 channel PCM operation is used a TD-202/U multiplexer and two TD-
660/G multiplexers must be added at each end of the system while the 12-channel PCM radio
system uses only one TD-660/G multiplexer at each end. Figure 2 represents a 12-channel PCM
system.

(3) Another application of the AN/GRC-103 is a radio relay for a 6, 12, or 24-channel
PCM system. This mode of operation requires two AN/GRC-103's at each relay site. Figure 3
represents a 12-channel radio relay. This system employs a TD-660/G at each terminal.
