c. Receiver Tuning Procedures. After you have completed tuning the transmitter, your
next task is to tune the receiver. Once again the receiver tuning procedure is given in steps
which should be followed in the sequence listed. Refer to the specified Fold-Out while reading
each step and locate the controls which must be operated. Your job aid card will provide you
with a brief outline of the following steps.
STEP 1.
Refer to Fold-Out 12 while you read this step. Set the receiver meter switch
(Item 7) to +12 VDC. This will check the +12-volt power supply in the
receiver.
The normal indication is for the receiver meter to read in the green band.
Refer to the enlarged view of the meter and locate the green band.
STEP 2.
You should use Fold-Out 12 while reading this step.
Set the receiver meter switch (Item 7) to -12 VDC. This action will check the
condition of the -12 volt power supply.
The receiver meter should read in the green band.
STEP 3.
Continue to use Fold-Out 12 while reading this step.
Wait until the SYNC lamp (Item 5) goes out. Don't be alarmed if the SYNC
lamp only flashes on and stays off or doesn't light at all.
STEP 4.
Refer to Fold-Out 12 while you read this step.
Turn the receiver meter switch (Item 7) to OSC. This action should cause the
receiver meter to read between 25% and 90% of full scale.
STEP 5.
Refer to Fold-Out 12.
Set the receiver meter switch (Item 7) to DOUBLER.
The normal indication is a meter reading between 25% and 90% of full scale.
STEP 6.
Refer to Fold-Out 12.
Set the receiver meter switch (Item 7) to MULT. Then adjust the MULT
PEAK control (Item 11) for a maximum receiver meter reading between 25%
and 90% of full scale.
