STEP 11. Refer to Fold-Out 12.
Set the receiver meter switch (Item 7) to OW and request an order wire ring
from the distant station.
When the distant station rings, the receiver meter should read in the green
band, the call lamp on the order wire unit should light, and the buzzer may
sound.
STEP 12. After the receiver is tuned, move the receiver meter switch (Item 7) to either
12 or 24 CH PCM. The position of the switch will depend on the type of
PCM system.
d. Channel Changing. It may be necessary to change channels during normal operation
of the radio set. When this is required, turn the transmitter AC POWER switch to OFF to
then turn AC power on and continue with steps 11 thru 19 and receiver tuning steps 4 thru 7.
When operating into a dummy load it is not necessary to remove ac power while changing the
channel number.
This completes the procedure for tuning the AN/GRC-103 receiver. When you are sure you are
familiar with each step used to tune the receiver, complete Lesson Exercise 4.
