OPERATOR'S AND ORGANIZATIONAL
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
SCOPE
Procedures for performing operator's daily and
weekly preventive maintenance checks on
Radio Set AN/GRC-103; maintenance duties
assigned to the operator of the radio set to
include indicator lamp replacement; procedures
for performing organizational monthly and
quarterly preventive maintenance checks on
Radio Set AN/GRC-103; tools and test
equipment required by an organizational
repairman; corrective actions taken by an
organizational repairman to include transmitter
tube replacement and procedures for adjusting
filament voltage and cathode current after
installation of transmitter tube in the radio set.

OBJECTIVES
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
The performance objectives of this lesson are for you to be able to accomplish the
following tasks:
1.
Perform an operator's daily preventive maintenance inspection of Radio Set AN/GRC-
103 using paragraph 5-4 in TM 11-5820-540-12. You will be provided with an AN/GRC-103
containing the type of deficiencies associated with this type inspection, necessary cleaning
materials, and the items identified as running spares in para 1-6c of TM 11-5820-540-12. To
accomplish this objective, you must locate and correct 2 of the 3 deficiencies within 20 minutes.
2.
Perform
an
operator's
weekly
preventive
maintenance
inspection
on
Radio Set AN/GRC-103 and its antenna system using paragraph 5-6 in
TM 11-5820-540-12.
You will be provided with an AN/GRC-103 and antenna
system containing the type of discrepancies associated with an operator's weekly inspection,
