the 3 deficiencies within 30 minutes.

Perform an organizational monthly preventive maintenance inspection of Radio
Set AN/GRC-103 and its antenna system using paragraph 6-6 in TM 11-5820-540-12. You will
be provided an AN/GRC-103 and antenna system containing the type of deficiencies associated
with an organizational monthly inspection. You will also be provided with the tools, test
equipment, and cleaning materials required for organizational maintenance listed in paragraph 6-
3 of TM 11-5820-540-12, and items identified as running spares in paragraph 1-6c in TM 11-
5820-540-12. To accomplish this objective you must locate and correct 3 of 4 deficiencies
within 45 minutes.

Perform an organizational quarterly preventive maintenance inspection of Radio
Set AN/GRC-103 using paragraph 6-7 in TM 11-5820-540-12. You Will be provided with an
AN/GRC-103 containing the type of deficiencies associated with an organizational quarterly
inspection. You will also be provided with DA Pam 310-4, DA Pam 310-7, organizational
maintenance tools and test equipment specified in paragraph 6-3 of TM 11-5820-540-12, and
cleaning materials. To accomplish this objective, you must locate and correct 3 of 4 deficiencies
within 45 minutes.
LESSON OBJECTIVES:
You may not have a radio set or antenna system available while you take this lesson.
Therefore, by accomplishing the following Lesson Objectives you should be able to perform
operator's and organizational preventive maintenance inspections on the AN/GRC-103. You will
require some supervision from a qualified individual when you do have the necessary equipment
available. The Lesson Objectives you must accomplish to successfully complete this lesson are
as follows:
1.
List, in proper sequence, the five items to be inspected during an operator's daily
preventive maintenance inspection of Radio Set AN/GRC-103. No errors will be allowed in
listing or sequencing.
2.
List in proper sequence, the four items to be inspected during an operator's
weekly preventive maintenance inspection of Radio Set AN/GRC-103. No errors will be
allowed in listing or sequencing.
3.
Sequence a list of steps used when replacing a defective indicator lamp on the
front panel of Radio Set AN/GRC-103. No errors will be allowed in sequencing and paragraph
5-8 in TM 11-5820-540-12 will be used as the standard.
