Signal Support Responsibilities. Signal support responsibilities are linked to a commander's
authority and responsibility to manage and use his signal support resources. Signal support must
integrate and synchronize the efforts of signal staffs, signal units, functional staffs, and users under the
staff supervision of the signal officer.

Signal Corps Responsibilities. Signal corps responsibilities are listed as staff responsibilities and
unit responsibilities. As shown in Figure 1-1, the signal officer at each echelon is responsible for the
staff supervision of all support functions, and the signal unit commander is responsible for providing the
wide-area communication networks.
