INTRODUCTION
To ensure the required combat force is applied at the right place and time, an effective integration of
forces must occur. All battlefield operating systems (BOS) must be synchronized to project the best
blend of combat power to achieve a decisive victory. Command and control (C2) is possible only if the
essential information needed by the commander is available. The role of signal support is to provide the
means whereby the commander receives the correct information to permit him to exercise his will in
directing his force.
