h. In MSE, all terminal equipment is user-owned, installed and
operated.
The signal officer in an MI battalion plays a critical
role in assisting the MSE network managers at division (division
signal battalion personnel) in managing the network.
The signal
officer ensures that users are trained in operating and installing
all terminal equipment connected to the MSE network.
The signal
officer also ensures that the network is fulfilling customer needs,
that proper coordination is made before unit CPs move, that COMSEC
keys and frequencies are distributed, and that subscriber problems
are accurately identified.
The signal officer keeps in mind that
troubleshooting is a coordinated effort between the signal officer
and the MSE network manager.
