Lesson 3/Learning Event 5
c. Prewired Circuits.
All circuits are wired through the terminal
blocks on the CDF.
A number of circuits are prewired at the factory to
minimize of installation on site.
However, any and all circuits may be
rewired at the CDF when circuit changes are ordered. Circuits prewired at
the factory include the following:
d. References.
A set of drawings accompanies each terminal.
All
circuit details are indicated on these drawings.
As each circuit is
activated, a circuit layout record card must be prepared.
Further, any
changes in circuit layout require either a change in the card or
preparation of a new one.
The importance of records cannot be over
emphasized, for without such records the AN/MSQ-73 simply becomes a
confusion of wires. Of equal importance is the excessive time loss which
the confusion of wiring causes for the technical controller. All records
are prepared and maintained in accordance with DCS standards, Part of the
on-the-job training every technical controller receives includes the
preparation and use of records.
e. Attenuator Wiring.
Attenuators are constructed on
uniform-sized
cards that mount a series of square pads to be strapped
in or out as
needed.
Figure 3-12 shows a typical attenuator card of
approximately
actual size. Each attenuator has multiple contacts to slip
into a mating
socket.
(1) All pads have the same configuration (square).
The loss of each
pad is labeled. The total loss is the sum of all pads in the circuit.
