CAUTION
Be careful when uncrating the equipment. Do not thrust tools
into the container; they could damage the equipment.
b. Place the wooden crate as close to the desired operating location as possible. Cut
the metal straps at a point just below the box cover. Use a nail puller to remove the nails from
the box cover. Remove the box cover and carefully remove the packaged equipment. Cut
through three of the upper edges of the outer carton. The uncut edge will act as a hinge.
Remove the cushioned equipment.
NOTE: Use the packing slip to check the contents. Examine
the equipment carefully. Report damaged equipment.
7.
Assembly and preparation for use.
a. Place the loaded reel on the ground with the sides upright. (See Figure 28.)
b. Release the pin catches and fold the cross braces of reel unit RL-31-(*) flat against
the cross arms. (See Figure 29.)
