At the same time you are doing lubrication, you should check to see if touchup painting is required.
If touchup painting is required, remove any rust and corrosion from the metal surfaces by lightly sanding
with a fine sandpaper. Brush two thin coats of paint on the bare metal to protect it from further-corrosion.
Refer to the applicable cleaning and refinishing practices specified in TM 9-213.
