Learning Event 1:
DESCRIBE THE STEPS NECESSARY TO PERFORM MONTHLY MAINTENANCE.

On monthly basis, you must perform certain checks and services on the equipment if you want it to
be dependable.
2.
Perform the maintenance functions indicated in the monthly preventive maintenance checks and
services chart (fig. 4-1) once each month. A month is defined as approximately 30 calendar days of 8 hour-
per-day operation. If the equipment is operated 16 hours-per-day, the monthly preventive maintenance
checks and services should be performed at 15-day intervals. Adjustment of the maintenance interval must
be made to compensate for any unusual operating conditions. Equipment maintained in a STANDBY
condition must have monthly preventive maintenance checks and services performed on it. Equipment in
LIMITED STORAGE does not require monthly preventive maintenance.
