13. RT-1209/URC.
The RT-1209/URC is designed so that frequencies above
29.9999 MHz cannot be selected.
However, frequencies below 2 MHz can be
selected, which causes an automatic tune-fault tone upon keying the PTT
switch. The selection of a frequency below 2 MHz and improper grounding are
the most likely causes of operator-induced faults.
The frequency is
variable from 2 MHz to 29.9999 MHz in 100-Hz steps, allowing 280,000
distinct frequencies.
