Learning Event 1:
IDENTIFY ITEMS TO BRIEF OPERATORS.
1.
When an operator assumes duties in a radio net, it is important that
he be aware of the current situation in the net and the status of the
station.
The outgoing operator or the team chief briefs the incoming
operator on those items of concern.
2.
During an operator's tour of duty, various situations can affect the
operation of the station.
The outgoing operator or the team chief must
brief the incoming operator on the status of the power generating equipment.
This can include the next generator change over, amount of fuel available,
also covered.
Equipment in use, type of antenna in use, and troublesome
equipment should be discussed. Any changes to the operational frequency to
include scheduled changes should be discussed.
The suspected or known
instance of enemy jamming should be described in detail. Upcoming changes
to the SOI, or a scheduled change of frequency and call sign is briefed.
Any additional occurrences should also be discussed.
